I Speak No Italiano.

A room in an apartment in Taormina, Italy

It’s really pretty here.  Taormina is a super cute city on a hill that overlooks the Mediterranean Sea.  It was a 5 and a half hour train from Pasteum to Taormina.  Our train disconnected at one point and got put on a ship that took us to Sicily.  The ocean is so blue and it’s even hotter than infinity degrees.

We took a tour of the school and it looks like an old fashion museum.  It has four floors and there are chalk boards and it reminds me of how I used to picture old boarding schools in books.

My host family is really nice.  I sort of forgot her name though.  She’s really pretty and nice with two kids that should be in my class starting Monday, judging by how neither of them speaks English.  She owns a jewelry boutique in town.  Oh yeah, this town is walking only.  It’s a 15 minute walk to school, and I am excited to explore.

My host family has a huge extended family and we went to dinner tonight.  I ate delicious cous cous. J I love Mediterranean food.  Tomorrow we are going to the beach and then church at 7 for a celebration where there is a precession with flowers after.  I’d be more excited if my family was here.

It sucks I don’t have internet again and I don’t know how I am going to last 2 weeks without communication.  It makes me crazy homesick and I don’t know what to do.  I can’t find anywhere that sells SIM cards because Verizon phones don’t work here regardless.  I want to go home.

Someone please start looking up flights and contact me by carrier pigeon.  This was super fun; Italy is great; Sicily is beautiful; get me the hell out of here.
